Children’s Workshops

Gerry has been leading creative writing workshops in Primary schools since 2004 and has worked with over 100 schools to date.

Gerry believes that the best learning often comes from having fun with the subject and has a multitude of ideas to make that fun experience happen naturally and productively. His objective in the classroom has always been to make the learning experience an enjoyable one for all the pupils.

Gerry usually reads from his popular grizzly bear books and from his newest book for children, The Secret Lives of Mothers’, a collection of 50 funny and occasionally thought-provoking poems.

Gerry visits schools for a full day or a half-a-day, and can do one-off sessions, five-weekly sessions, or a series lasting a full school term.
